I`m still in the hovering stage..but I made some adjustments to correct a geary kind of noise..one of the things I did was to loosen the tail belt to approx. 1/4 inch play, I reset the slider gap to 4.5mm as per raptortechnique...I have a nose right drlft that even 3 turns on the ball link didn`t get rid of...does it make sense that a loose belt would cause this..I may be running a bit to rich also if that might cause it.....GY401/9253,R30,OS 32, 5° at midstick, 42% throttle at midstick, not real sure of the headspeed at this point but if I speed it up it gets real twitchy....although the motor does seem to be getting very hot after 4 or 5 minutes of hover.

GYRO

Sounds like a gyro issue to me. I'd play with the neutral setting until the drift stops. Leave the ball link alone for now. I don't know anything about HH gyros so maybe it could be some other setting on the gyro.

I set everything up as per the raptortecnique website as my entire setup was identical to his...R30 ,Airtronics RD6000 super, OS 32,GY401/9253....the problem just started after making some adjustments..loosened the belt to approx. 1/4" play..I really think it may be the engine running rich.....anyway...revo mixing is off..no trim on the rudder..I do run HH in normal mode..radio set to 90%..gyro is set at DS on, delay 0, limit 140 or max
I am running rich because I was having a lean condition after a couple minutes of hover ( could also be that the motor was under to much load..ie..not enough throttle) Not exactly sure where the needles are at this point, pretty sure I`m a little over book setting on the low end, and probably a touch rich on the high end.Running coolpower 30%...
I have an experienced pilot coming to look it over tomorow, hopefully he can figure it out..

yes the noise got better by loosening the tail belt and I also lubed several bearings including the one way in this whole adjustment deal.

Have you trimmed the heli out in normal mode and then flipped the switch from normal to HH 3 times fast to memorize nuetral for HH mode?
