That works well. Method I use (which is just as quick) is simply roll the egg on a worktop with some pressure from the palm of the hand so the shell breaks off.

There is a huge hump back wrasse off Sharm el Sheik that will fix that for you. Just give him the egg and seconds later he will spit out the shell, hard part is getting hold of the egg then...

That's spiffy.

For alternative horseplay, an egg cuber can be entertaining.

'Diced' eggs take on a different meaning when you use a gadget and some dye. Hard boil an egg, peel it, drop it in some hot vinegar (to improve shape retention), stick it in a cuber and refrigerate for at least several hours. Remove, dry well, and neatly apply dots of dye with a toothpick. Web pictures only, don't have any of the finished product. Use your imagination.
