Problem: Need a new battery pack for Logo 20.
Cons: Two TP-8000 battery packs is old chemistry LiCoO2, does not have very long shelf life, maybe 300-500 cycles, cost $660.
Pros: Two packs can fly a Logo 20 30 mins with the right motor.
Outrage Batteries: Pro: New chemistry C-LiFePo4, can be cycled 2000-3000 times and still have %80 of capacity left. Cost $499 for 4 packs to almost equate to 2 TP-8000 packs.

Make a pack out of 4 4S1P Outrage packs.

Tape two packs together as shown. Cut the male balance plug off and attach the female plug using the extensions that comes with the batteries.

Plug the new balance extension into each battery.

After attaching the battery connectors slide on 2 inch heatshrink tubing.

Use hair dryer to shink the tubing over the battery.

Perfect fit on Logo 20, now batterys will last very long time, are not subject to problems with heat, fly 25-30 mins good enough.
There are other batteries, that are C-LiFePo4. Desire Power, Kong Power, Air Thunder. If it says it's a no puff battery chances are it's C-LiFePo4. A safe lipo.
A123 is a safe lipo (LiFePo4). It has a lower max charging voltage, 3.6.
In fact we are the test bed for this battery, for the electric cars that are coming out. |
