e-Miniature Aircraft Furion - Razor - Ion-X > First build issue!....

Started build but have reached a small hurdle (probably me being stupid!). Which way up do the belt pulleys go on the standoffs as the manual is not totally clear. I am sure the screws goes in the side without flange but that means the bearing has to be secured by the green threadlock otherwide the pulley can solid on up and down on the bearing. Although any fast moving bearing should be adhered on the outer race I am surprised it restriction of movement relies solely on this?....

Installed mine flange down with green loctite to secure. With the flange down if the loctite comes loose the pully can not come off the post.

further build issues

Well I have built the Furion (minus electrics) and thought I would share my thoughts on the heli along with issues and would welcome any feedback from fellow Furion owners.
I was under no illusion when buying this heli that it is a brand new model however I was also aware that MA craft are top notch in quality and precision.
I have to say I am disappointed to find the manual had several typos leaving me somewhat confused at times. Althought it states on there that you should check the website for revisions I am yet to find them!!!
After getting over this small issue I discover that not everything is a perfect fit.

1. MA give you a note instructing you to use different ballend links(in a seperate bag). These seem much loser and free on the balls compared to the old ones. Worried they are too loose and don't have enough resistance to coming off.
2. When setting the longest links as per manual I find the road threads too far into the ball link therefore rendering it useless! Wasted two doing that! May not need to be that long (yet to fit servos) but too late now! Does anyone know if trex 450 ball links fit?
3. Whatever I do I can't seem to free up plastic links on the mixer arms therefore head is binding. Does anyone know what MA mean when they say use heatgun on them??? Does it stretch them??
4. The only links that are tight (another cause for head binding) is the ones to the flybar cage. Does anyone know if you can get a mini ballend reamer as I only have one for 50 size heli ballends.

Impressed with general build but would like to solve these issues before attempting to fly...

Shaggy33,I used the links that came with the kit as they felt great to me.As for the binding in the head some kits seemed to be shipped with a improper sized shim.I won't go into much detail as MA has already realized the problem and is taking care of it.Not something I was expecting to find with quality MA is known for ,but just a new kit glitch. You don't actually need a ball end reamer, the links can be sqeezed very lightly with a pair of small pliers.Sqeeze the link on each side with the link on the ball. You can also do this after warming the link as it will help the link retain it's new size. Hope this helps. I am sure you will love flying this machine, I think it is my new favorite!!!
