Hi

I rebuilt my tail after a crash. I have a GY401 and about 65% gain on my dx7. I set my servo horn to be at 90 degree with my boom and when it initialise, it is center on the tail shaft.

When i lift up, it always to turn to the left. The only way I have to correct this is to move the servo to the front of the heli. But if i do that, i'm almost at the end of the shaft and if I lift up like that, the heli act strange (sometimes it turn left and right with no input).

When it is centered on my tail shaft, i look at my heli and should have a bit of pitch to the right ?? (to conter the heli that naturally tend to the left). ?? I didn't seems to have that, it seems to be vertical and I thinks that's my problem. But here is my question ??? how to modify that ??? The only thing i can change it the position of the servo right ?? or maybe i'm missing something...

Help me please

I'm sorry for my poor english, this is not my native language.

I set the 401 up in Normal first to have about 4 to 5 deg of right thrust.

To achieve this I move the servo mtg brackets to the correct position.

Take a look at the limit setting on the gyro itself to make sure it doesnt bang the stops or at least one side of them.

I use 75 for gain in HH.

Make sure your HS is 2500 or better.

Should work just fine.

MTG, "mounting" bracket... The brackets that mount the tail servo to the tailboom.

problem

Yes your right, i tried that, but if I move it to have the appropriate tail blade pitch, the tail slider is almost at the end of the shaft on one side. The only things that can fix it seems to find a way to remove some space from the slider and the tail blades grip.... that cannot be done ...

Blades Turning????

Hi Miguel,

When you start to run the heli, what direction are the tail blades turning??? The leading edge should be turning towards the rear... counter clockwise.. might be as simple as not having the proper twist in the belt????

Stan

If there is a cure for this, please don't tell me about it!!!

Wanna Bet?????

I would bet that it is safe to say that just about EVERYONE on this site has done SOMETHING wrong on the tail at one time or another.... so don't feel bad!!!!!!!!!!!! The trick is that you caught what you had done wrong and fixed it!!!! Nothing wrong with that...most of us have learned the same way.....
