Was looking for a winter project and wanting to keep expenses down have been looking for a fuselage for a Raptor 30 V2. If I purchase a Century Twinstar 30 fuselage is my research correct that it will fit the Raptor 30 fame with mods to the collective arm and that I do not have to change the tail boom? I know the Bell 222 fits, with the same mod to the collective arm, but I want to stay away from landing gear and just stay with skids. I found a color scheme I like and would look great. I like the Bell 222 but I do not want to be flipping landing gear switches when something goes wrong, you know Murphy's Law. I know this has been addressed before, as I have seen, but any input on this would be great.

the raptor will fit the 30 size twinstar and as far as i know, no mods to the collective arm are required.i believe you are a smart man for wanting to keep it simple by going with skids for your first time at a scale ship.the 222/airwolf's magestic beauty draws a lot of newcommers tyo scale into the complications of having to deal with installing and setting up the retractable gear of the airwolf/222.
the twinstar also has very pretty lines that lend itself to many colorschemes and with nicely constructed scale gear, will make a nice scaler.
here's one i had with shuttle plus mechs.

the other way with the bell 222 is to scale it off a bell 230
as the 230 has skids not retracts, all you need to do is use some plastic card and cover the holes in or just leave them open

the 222 and 230 look the same apart from the skids

I checked out some pictures of the Bell 230, did not think of that I aways think 222. That's real nice also. Two choices are better than one, or may not. But it look great also. Thanks for the help. Now I'll have to pick one.

i always assumed that the 230 would have retracts due to it having the side pods, but all the 230's ive seen have had skids ,it must be an option when the heli is built

my 222 with retracts
