looking for a professionally made heli pad. i've seen them in the past but now that i'm looking for one for the shop i can't find them. like to see what some of you guys have and where you gottem. i'd like something like a rubber mat. something nice for the shop but not to hard to take to the field.

You might think about a carpet remnant or a floor mat.

Hi ya,

My landing pad was made from a 24" round pinewood table top bought at Lowes. They come in 12",24" and 36" and are 1" thick. I used a can of white spray paint first and then masked off the "H". I then sprayed the whole thing with grey textured paint (the gritty stuff). It is also setup with glowire for night flying. There was an article in a Heli mag a few months back with the directions on how to make one.

Regards,

Tim

Tractor Supply

A horse stall mat works great and you can pick them up at Tractor Supply. The mat is 3/4" thick and 4'x6' they are made from used tires. I use one to keep the crap off of my 600n and they usually go for around $50.

Just a thought

Finally got past the sweating palms!!!!!!

thanx madness good idea.

i recieved the canomod version and it's great. not so much for landing on but it's excellent on the worktable. i don't drop near as many screws and it grips the heli a lot better than grip tape or other things i've used. plus it looks pretty cool. i really was looking for a novelty really which i would use for landing but really trying to deck out the heli shop. gonna paint a huge circle H i think, and maybe light it up like Merlin's. that's to cool.
