I’m sending this e-mail due to a problem in one of my FP packs. For some time now I (and all my friend who have the same hobby) only use FP batteries. I have 3 3s 2500mAh Evolite V2 packs and 2 3s 2500mAh Evo25 packs that I use in an Align T-Rex 450SE helicopter. So far, none of us had a problem, until I was about to charge an Evolite Pack I used a couple of days ago. I immediately noticed the pack was bigger than before. Unfortunately, It didn’t take much to see that the upper cell is all swollen, as is the lower one (but in a much small proportion). That is usually the signal of a problem in the battery pack. I bought this pack about a month ago, and as I keep a record of how many times I use my LiPo packs, I can say I balance-charged it 23 times using a Schuze isl 6 330-d charger and an Hyperion LBA 10 6S balancer. This is one of my recent packs. All the other ones I have are ok. The timer on my transmitter is set to 5 minutes, so I never fly longer that this. I always let the batteries cool down to ambient temperature before charging, and always charge them with the balancer. With my heli, I mainly do some sport flying. I’m using the stock Align ESC (35A) and a Scorpion 2221 -8 motor, with wooden blades, all far from the standard discharge rate of the battery. As I believe this isn’t normal in a high quality LiPo pack as the FlightPower ones (especially in an almost new pack), I want to ask you if there is any warranty replacement for these kind of issues. I am relying on FP batteries and their quality and in spite of being disappointed with what happened, I do believe this is not a common problem amongst your LiPo packs. Please review my situation as soon as possible, as I don’t want to use the battery pack like that. I’ll be looking forward for your answer.
