e-E-Flite Blade CP mCX CX 400-3D > Blade 400 3D B400 motor continues to run with closed throttle

My transmitter had a few clicks of down trim on the throttle right out of the box. I have been learning to fly my B400 with it that way ever since. Today I centered the trim, and discovered that the motor continued to run slowly even when the throttle was bottomed out. The L and 2 settings on my throttle curve are 0.0% and 40.0%, respectively. I restored about three cliks of down trim on the throttle, and was able to shut down completely again.

I centered the trim without rearming the ESC, so I now wonder if the down trim present on initialization was seen as "zero" and, thus, the later centering was interpreted as up trim. Am I on the right track, or is there another explanation/fix for this?

Thanks.

The receiver doesn't remember the first throttle setting it sees as zero, but it is, deep down, analog in nature, and some of the ESC's have their zero point higher or lower than normal. It's ok if you need a little trim to get it to stop.

You can try setting the travel limit on the throttle if you want the trim at zero.

It's probably also a good idea to re-bind once you get the throttle straightened out, so that your failsafe is correctly set at zero throttle.

I just run my throttle about 5-6 clicks down on my trim. Once I get it to where it's not moving, I click it one more time to be sure. I've had friends who have done the same thing, but without the extra click down. THey were unhooking their battery from the Rx, and the blades spun up and cut his arm. Mine has never flitched like that. (Knock on wood)
