control shaft help

Hey all- My control shaft for the elevator arm seems to be too long. I installed the collars per the manual but there is still left right play maybe 4 to 5 mm. Am I missing something here?

thanks.

There should be some shims, copper and silver color, in one of the bags. I had to use one on each side to get it slop free. hope this helps. Take it easy.

yes, there are shims in the one of the screw bags. Its not mentioned in the manual, but its there. I asked the same thing a while back too. I think finless mentioned it in one of his 700n build videos.

#61 on the 700N list and Proud of it.

Continuing my thoughts:

ALIGN QC is the worst I have seen. They have replaced the ball links 3 times. Every set has been molded wrong!!!. I bought 2 sets from a couple different places and they were all molded wrong. Is it too much to ask to get this simple process right??

thanks

Hmmm- OK thanks guys. I don't necessarily see them yet, so I will continue the build and see what I have left over.
When I finish putting mortorcycles together, these left over parts are called "profit"

There are extra shims in the spare parts bag, the one with the zip ties and stuff in it.

Yup - gotta bang on Align for not doing anything about the links - no F'ing excuses - do I need to name names???? What kind of wide spread poor customer service does Align want to be known for?

the fuel tank wasn't an issue for me although it's a really strong tank so not easy to get in. (I ended up putting it in during the frame stage but not looking forward to getting it out if I have to on the field!)

Same here, but I thought a new redesigned tank would be on the market by now, something like the Aurora on a 45 degrees where the nipple goes, so we could do maintenance easier at the field, I don't like that I have to use the middle hole and having to look at another hole patch up with a plug.
