Now to top it all off my canopy is drilled wrong. It bulges out BIG time on one side. UGH... I need another SYNERGY.

I am taking it to the field today so the guys their can see the issues I have. Maybe Rockohaulic will be there and be able to take pix. At this point I am 100% unsatisfied with this kit.

Not to rub it in but my only problem with the build was not having a main shaft shim that was a little smaller as it was a little difficult to get in.

You should sell it, I think you already have an offer!

I can not sell it in good conscience. It has quite a few issues and I am going to work on assurance to see if they will get me a new kit(the way to go) or replace everything that is wrong with it.

My LHS received my kit this week on monday, so I assume its a later kit.

I had a few build issues too.

1. Ball links don't go on straight. Mine doesn't. Even if I start out really straight, it starts going at an angle once it get tight. I am not sure if its my fault, but I have been building ball links since 10years ago when I started with nitro cars(started heli 3years later) and I NEVER had such issue before.

2. My metal tail control rod takes so much effort to slide into the carbon rod-at least 15mins of work. The pre-production kit video by finless showed that his went through in a matter of seconds.

3. The rear canopy grommet hole on my canopy were drilled too rearward and BOTH SIDE WERE NOT EQUAL This results in the canopy being distorted and wrapped when I put it on. I wouldn't usually care about how bad it looks, but it was getting bent so bad that my canopy is touching my main gear. Had to add thick plastic spacer to each side of the canopy post. I am wondering if align is employing some senior folks at the factory who forgot to put on his glasses when drilling my canopy.

4. When I tighten down the tail case, the carbon fin get bend because the clamp is closing on the top and bottom. I am using the metal boom if it matters.

5. The torque tube gears on my front boom mount were SUPER SMOOTH, but the same cannot be said for those at the rear.

6. The blade holders. Not sure if its an error or what, but mine came with a 50size blade holder. It can't fit the blade width of my radix and it can't fit the blade width of my tail boom

On a more positive note, the rest of the build were ok. Head was free and so was the tail. Main gear and one way was smooth too. My kit came with 4 shim and the thinnest one fits the main shaft PERFECTLY. It is extremely good value considering that I got it from my LHS at USD640.

Yes

It comes with the same blade holder as the 600. I have CY 710 SB and they fit fine. A little tight but fit and it also fits my tail as well

Didn't have my camera to take pics, but I did get a good look at Badd's 700N.

There were many issues, but the three that stand out were the main shaft not fitting into the main bearings, the gear mesh in the tail, and the ball links.

All of these are manufacturing defects. Period. They are not build issues, or unrealistic expectations, they were simply manufactured incorrectly.

Some of the other issues were design issues (like the fuel tank nipple too close to the back of the YS91 SR). This should have been looked at closer in the design phase. They should test fit against all types of engines. But in the end, we will all have to live with this as nothing can be done in the manufacturing stage to fix it.

But once they design it, they should be able to hold their tollerances and complete their QC to a level that allows customer #100 to have the same kit as customer #1. In this case, it looks like Align dropped the ball.

And speaking of ball - The ball links were unbelievable! As you can see in the picture, the holes for the rod are off. Way off! This is unbelievable!

If I was Align I would be embarrased to let something like this get past me! They should fire the the QC guy - or at least wake him up so he can do his job!

Both of us have had many helicopters between the two of us, and even the lowly Blade CX at least has ball links that build up straight.

Unbelievable!

Good luck bud in getting a satisfactory resolution to this!

Has anyone with the ball link issues tried picking up a package of new links? Just curious if they are also drilled off center.

Louk05, I am running the radix 710SB too. I am not sure if we have the same blade holder, but mine can't even let the arc at one blade end go through, not to mention storing the blades at an angle when the blades are folded. It works fine for my 50size after I opened up the boom slot slightly.

Here is my theory on new kits. Either buy the very first batch that is out or wait until the 4th batch is out.

The reason I say this is the first batch is critically scrutinized and QC is at its highest. When the second batch comes through, everybody lightens up on the checking and the QC goes to sh!t.

Now the 3rd batch you get most of the things fixed, but a few get shipped out with some of the left over bad stuff.

By the 4th batch, everything is usually ironed out.

That's my theory and I am sticking to it.

I had the first 600E, 600N, and Aurora in San Diego. All three were pretty much perfect. I also think that is why you always hear the pros say, "my kit was perfect". Well yah, each piece was hand inspected because they are the very first run.

Ghost - - Nail on the head!

Badd was talking about this today too.

And my kit was in the very first batch and it went together soooooooo much better!

The links suck big time period.

I hate them. I would use my rocket city ones if they fit but my balls are too big.

About 35% of my links went on straight.....15% are ok and liveable and the rest are just plain utter crap. No matter what anyone says....this is a manufacturing defect.

Now I haven't had the other defects so i guess maybe I have a better QC kit. But I have to agree entirely on the links....they are bad.

so Rocket City and other brands of links won't fit the 700 balls?

Does it hell!

The 600 is designed for 12mm root blades and the 700 14mm. The bearings have a 10mm centre not 8mm! So physically the blades holders are considerably larger.

So in comparison, the 700 grips are nothing like the 600's!

As to tail blades, just in case these are what you were referring to, the 600 and 700 share the same hub and holders and are designed for 5mm root tail blades. As the CY tail blades share the same root, both 95 and 105mm, there should not be a problem!
