Align T-REX 600N 700N > T-REX 700N My first build thoughts on the 700

Started with the head, not too impressed. Lots of machining flaws and the finish is OK.. Interesting dampers, will see how they hold up.

Got the frame together, very uneventfull. Major gripe is the slots for the clutch mount are off so the clutch and start shaft are not square. No biggie, a little dremel work fixed that.

Go to bolt in the engine, and here is where they screwed the YS guys. The nipple for the fuel tank puts the fuel line right into the regulator. I will see how long fuel line lasts bent over like that. They should have put in a 90 degree nipple.

Go to slide in the main shaft, and as it is I had to polish the shaft to get it to slide into the bearings.. Typical align.

Oh yeah, still the same crappy bearings..

Should have her in the air this weekend, work providing.

Comparing a Synergy to the 700 quality wise. It would be a MAJOR injustice to the Synergy to make that comparison.

Wont know if I like it until I fly it.. But you will be the first one I contact..

LMAO, I knew the quality would not be up there. I needed a beater 90,and this fits the bill nicely.

Is anyone else having problems with the mainshaft being oversize?? NONE of the head parts from the swash up will go on either. I wonder if this is a second batch issue.

My buddy said his tailshaft was really stiff on the slider, I think he mentioned having to sand that down. I know the 700 only has two bearing blocks, but when you tightened the bearing blocks down, did you have the mainshaft in the bearings, and was it smooth after you tightened the bolts down on the blocks? Or, is it stiff thru the bearings?

The main shaft wont slide through the bearings. I have to polish it a little bit more.

My 700 Great

Not sure how bad you guys have it really.
But my 700 assembly went easy. I had no problems. Main shaft installed easy. I did coat it thought with Triflow grease first before I installed it. Also I greased the starter one way and the auto one way as well. Soon as I put the starter on it after two tanks with new YS everything that was tight broke in perfect.

I think the tolerance is tight but after a few flights and re torque all the screws its a sturdy heli.

How is the fuel line holding up? is it rubbing on the regulator??

I used the plug that came with it in the inside tank hole.
I used a "T" for the back pressure tap from the back plate.

Ahhhh, I see you ran the outside fuel feed. I am trying to run the middle to get all the fuel. I may have found a 90 degree fitting that will work. I have to pull the engine back out to try and change it though..

I use a fuel magnet. This is the first heli I have not using a header tank. Since I stop fly at half a tank it works. Once I fit a header tank I will move it to the middle. Post a PIC of your 90 degree fitting. I wonder if a Raptor 90 fitting will work.

just my own little follow up here. my 2 gallon old 700 is grounded because the main mast bearings and dampers are shot. i hope the bearing failure is not because of the lack of a 3rd bearing block.

cheers

My buddy said his tailshaft was really stiff on the slider, I think he mentioned having to sand that down.

I saw this problem too but it was caused by the 2 bolts holding tension on the slider insert. Once I loosened them and set them just snug (not very tight), the slider moved easily on the tail shaft.

Well head is all together. Stripped the head button threads so I will be flying without the head botton. No I did not overtighten it, I was soft as a kitten, but so was the aluminum. Typical.

But hey, on the plus side it's less weight!

because *Raptors* only have two bearing blocks. I'm guessing you fly raptors - do they have bearing that last 10 flights?
