REAL easy way to get proper belt twist

Ok, someone told me this a while ago and it works great!

A VERY easy way to get the belt twist in the proper direction:

Once you have the belt throught the boom, loosen the tail assembly if you already tightened it. Rotate it to the right so that it is horizontal now, not the normal vertical. This will place the belt horizontally as well. Now slide the boom in normally and the belt will be ready to slip over the gear without twisting it. Once it's over the gear, rotate the tail assembly back to the left to it's proper vertical position. That's it...the belt is now on properly. Don't forget of course to adjust the belt tension...

the way i look at it is the fat part of the tail blade or leading edge of the blade when its at top of rotation needs to go toward the back of the heli. they will do this if you have a full twist as well so make sure it's a 1/4 turn in the boom and blades turning to the back. peice of cake.

well I changed the belt and ended up having it twisted so did it again and now it works fine. but I am going to have to do more tweaking on the throttle curve because I find that is is even worse. I bought a pitch gauge and found that it is -10, 0 and +10 which is the way it should be but I will mess with the settings on the curves and see what I come up with

unfortunately I have only 3 throttle curve points to play with. It is too windy right now but will try later.

Does the Dx6 have a menu that has = Swash/Throt? I have that on my TX and what it does is add more throttle when you tip the collective roll (Ali) or move the collective pitch (Ele). It works from 0.00% to 100% +-. mine is at 15%. You can hear it work when you move the stick around. Keeps her level...no more bounce. If you get too much on it you'll start to climb! when you move your Ali-Ele stick. It works pretty coool

When you hover, is your throttle stick in the middle? above? below? I try to get all my controls to hover at mid stick. As you have your throt hold on look at your mains....I try to have mine at 0 or +3ish. on my gage, it gives me a good head speed when all pitches collide at mid stick. 53 on throt.curve and 50 on pitch curve better to have more head speed than collective pitch. My head speed is 2100rpm.on a heli tach. (They're cool!). The tach's are optical so you get the main blades to stop in the window. check one out at your field or LHS. Hope this helps.

hey papa sal have you calculated the headspeed with a calculator? just wondering if your mathmatical headspeed is the same as your actual headspeed. think i'm gonna order the sky tach but if i can figure it on paper there may be no need. rcnut did you get your tx figured out yet?
