The 32-3 on 12S. I've hit 3000 watts just on 10S.

I've also used an 8T pinion and never stripped the gears. Only problem was that to make the pinion tall enough I had to use two pinions, one upside right and one upside down locktighted with flats on the same pinion shaft which went into a coupler that attached to the motor.

Oh! and there's no problem running a Rap90 at 2000rpm. It won't hurt anything, I run my glow Rap90 between 1950-2050 all the time.

Well guys I was on my third flight and the Scorpion burned up on me when I was approximately 50 feet. Thank God I was able to autorotate safely. I sent it back to Innov8tive and we will see if they will replce it under the warranty. Hopefully!! I believe the front bearing went out and overheated the motor, then a BIG puff of smoke!!!!

I don’t think that you setup is ever going to work correctly. You don’t have the correct headspeed/gearing/KV combination. If you gear it for 2200 headspeed and governing it down to 1900 it’s just going to burn up again.

You need a setup that will give you about 2000 headspeed at 100% and set the governor for 1950. That will be a very good 3D setup.

how exactly did the scorpion burn out shooter? was it the windings? or was it purely bearing failure? as with the stripped gears and bearing failure it sounds like a gear mesh problem to me. did you have a data logger on board?

I definetly need a data logger for sure!!!! I believe it was primarily a bearing failure (due to a high pitch noise followed by the big puff of smoke) followed by the burning of the windings. Ive check the meshing several times and it is as perfect as it can be. All of the teeth (Main & Pinion) are at 90 degrees.
