Alright Guys,

Got her off the ground and all I have to say is HOLY SH$T!!!! Alot of power with that Scorpion on 12s. Just did alittle 4min flight just to see if everything was good. So just charging the batteries so I can log some flight times. I will keep everyone posted.

What gearing are you running with that motor?

How did you mount the pinion to the motor?

Im runnig a 95 tooth main gear and a 10t pinion. Im not sure what you mean about mounting the pinion on the motor. Its like every other heli I have, just put the pinion over the main shaft and tighten it down with the set screw. By the way Im using approximately 510 mah per minute just hovering and doing some power climb outs. Not to bad I guess.

That should give you about 2100 to 2200 headspeed – don’t you think that’s a little high for a 90?

Well, I rarely every use 100% throttle so its fairly reasonable.

Update!

Alright well guys I did several power climb outs today and im sad to say my main gear is history!!!! The Scorpion has too much power! Does anyone know if someone makes an aftermarket gear for the Raptor 90's?

I don't think anyone makes better gears for it. How far can you move the pinion gear from the main gear even with moding the motor plate. You might have to go with a belt drive.

I don't think your geared right anyway. So it might solve two problems. What do you think?

So should I try a larger main gear or smaller?
