Hey guys, I have a 601 that I would like to use, don't want to spend the money on a 9251 if the 9254 will work. so if any body has done this setup and never had any problems with it please let me know.

it will not work, 9254 in wide band and the 9251 in a narrow band servo!

I think the 601 has a hidden menu like the 611 where you can change the pulse rate.

Hold both function keys when powering it up. Cycle through the menu to Plsw and change it from Nar (narrow) to Wid (wide).

yup any servo can be used as long as you change the frame rate in the hiden menues,the 9253 would be a better servo than the 9254 if you have it Chris,
i never actualy used any other servo than the one specificaly design for the Gyro but i have friends using diferent servos with the GY611 and the 601 but as stated before,
you need to get into the hiden menues to change the frame rate,good luck with your set up Buddy

[S9251 Digital servo ] -Special servo used with the GY601. Compatible with super narrow pulse (760us) drive. -Operation speed at 0.07sec/600. . -Aluminum with plastic case w/heat sink effectively cools the motor heat. Caution Always use the special S9251 servo with the GY601. The GY601 cannot operate with servos other than the S9251. The servo may be destroyed. (By Futaba) After reading this I would not use the 9254 with that Gyro.It will probably work intially but smells like trouble in the long run!
