My XCell gasser has this carb and I have heard some comments about it, saying that it doesn't have good transition characteristics and that it's difficult to tune, is that true? if so, what carb would you recommend? would the WT-603 be a better choice?

Thanks.

I have the same carb, tuning is no problem and I don't see any transition issues. It came with the engine, switch it out to others, the 603 didn't work as well with my engine/govenor setup

Some use the 603,but I have never tried it.I think you will do better if you use the 643 or the 644.These are the same except for the choke arrangement. If I am not mistaken, the 643 has no choke and is ready to use with the stock aircleaner box and choke. I used 644's because I got a good price and I removed the choke and plugged the holes with JB Weld.
