Hi everyone.
im starting off by getting my first electric airplane ready (then heli) I need to know what the best lipo charger is on the market (if it matters I have a thunder power 1320mah 11.1v lipo now)
and what radio would you recommend.

I hope you all can chime in with what is leading the field, im starting to go crazy with options

thanks
Michael.

If you're staying at or under 4 cell the CellPro 4S charger is excellent.

Cellpro 4S is your best choice for the price.

I myself use a Triton Jr. with a seperate balancer which works well for me but if I could have done it again I would have purchased the Cellpro charger.

Since you have a TP lipo, the easiest is TP chargers and balancers, the balance plugs on TP lipos are unique, you will need an adapter to use another type of balancer. The same holds in reverse, most lipos use the Align type balance plug.

Ultimately it will depend on the lipos you plan to buy, TP, EVO, and King Power have the same plugs, and are very good batteries. Some of the better batteries will install the TP balance plugs for you.

Adapters are available for any charger -> battery combo, so that is not a problem. I make my own for the CellPro. I just pick up one of there pig tails and then cut up the adapter that came with my Outrage packs. They use a TP connector also, so now a I have a 3s TP -> CellPro adapter for a couple bucks. I did the same for the JST connector (align, eflight, esky, ect). I guess what I am trying to say is that you should buy the charger you want and the batteries you want and just make them work together, no big deal.

Buy whatever charger you really want and don't worry about what batteries you might or might not own in the future. You can buy/make adapters for anything, so that should not be a major consideration.

As a note, the new Kong Power charger looks pretty decent and it uses TP connectors. I haven't used one but on paper it is very competitive for only $150. Of course if you only need to charge 4s or less, the Cellpro 4S is a great choice for $75.
