e-Align T-REX 450-500-600 > T-REX 450 T-rex 450 gyro and tail rotor problems

HI.

I seem to have trouble posting a message, I hope i didn t spam the forum with my un-knowhow of the net.

Here is my problem. I have a t-rex 450 with a MD 500 fuselage, working with a 401 gyro and a JR radio and digital tail servo. It used to fly just great till I added the fuselage. Now the tail does not seem to have enough travel to keep the heli from spinning. Might I add that I did change the main rotor spin to replicate the MD500, therefore the rotor spins clockwise and the tail rotor is on the left. Also the gyo light keep blinking red ? Soon to come is a 5 blade rotor head ( if I can find one )

Thank you for the help

That happens when the trim isn't centered or center position hasn't been verified.
Sometimes mine will du that so I just unplug & re plug it till it'sa solid red.

and one more thing "DON'T BE AFRAID!"

Thanks Jon.

Ya my rudder trim was off by one, I guess I forgot I was trying to compensate for the tail rotor. No more blinky

Altec .. Yes the rotor is up in the wash. I am wondering if there are any gears I can change to get the tail spinning faster, but I still dont get why it worked last week and not now. hhmmm, I forgot to say that I had to change to tail rotor servo rod to a wire since the ball link is now on top of the tail boom, but the wire should not be the problem since it is secured in many places and does not move at all from its position. ( that is the tubing that the wire runs through of course )

so, you fixed the heading hold mode? Is it still not having enough travel to stop the heli from spinning? What is your head speed?

Man, I miss the eighties.

yes HH is fine now.

For the rest I will have to let u know in the morning. midnight here lol so as soon as I get up I will give it a spin. And I will give U the main rotor rpm as well as the tail rotor rpm.

Ok. I made some servo adjustments and the heli now flys, I guess it was the guy behind the servo...!! Although now the 450 flys but every now and then it just starts turning to the left even with me giving it full right rudder ? If I throttle down a little and then back up its fine for a few second. My delay setting for the gyro is 0. Anybody ever had that problem ?

It is as if the gyro falls asleep for a few seconds and then wakes back up. If i give it a jurky up throttle it also starts to turn left.

For anyone reading the post and wondering what I did wrong..

First the servo arms were too short so I was missing a little travel. And then I thought my blades were at 0 deg, but they had a little over +2 deg so the engine could not get up to speed.. so there you go.. control horn adjustment and pitch on the blades.

A buddy of mine also gave me settings to adjust my pitch curve and engine curve, but I dont think that had anything to do with all my problems. I used to fly the heli with the curves pretty darn straight. 0-25-50-75-100, and now my pitch curve is set at 30%-48-70-85-100 and the thottle curve is as follows 0-40-75-85-100.

Still have the gyro lag problem, works fine then slowly goes to the left. that is nose turning left...So my rotor id CW and tail on the left up in the wash with the delay at 0 and the limit is set at 80
