Does anyone know why it is bad to do this?

They say not to, but is that just a marketing ploy?

I just had a servo up and quit and the only spare I have is non digital (the rest are digital).

I hooked it up and it responds fine,
but I am not going to use it until I know the risks.

are we talking about swash servos?if so,if they are not 100% matched you will have all kinds of problems such as interaction, centering and holding...is the new servo the EXACT same speed and torque of the others?

Yeah it is one of the three swash, the front.

I will check about speed and torque.

forget about it...you will not ever have a level swash as the new servo moves at a different speed than the other 2

That's a very popular servo right?

Hitecs work well in my bigger helis.

Never had a problem.

Did some searching on the forums here and on the net.
The reviews seem to be mixed on the hitec hs-55,
Most everyone says go for the 65.

I guess I will just get an esky replacement for now,
and get the 65's when I get my new radio (dx6i) next month.

This just sucks because I was hoping to get a Heading lock Gyro with my next bit of income.

If you don't mind waiting. These servo are very cheap and very good.

Yeah I saw those in your post about hitecs,
and nothing against you,
but in my experience
very cheap and very good don't happen in tandem very often.

I would have to know someone (personally) who had them, before I would take a chance.

If it was just the money for the servos,
I would do it,
if they sucked I would be out only $20 for four,
but
My whole bird would be on the line.

So (god help me)
I will save and wait for the better product. <----this is funny if you have read my "ghetto choppers" thread.

Well.. just look at the reviews on the page. People who say good thing about them all over the world can't be wrong. Why pay more for something that meet my skill level?

People all over the world say good things about Scientology too.

Besides I found a place with the servo I want for only 20 each

So the non digital I put on quit working too,
I am wondering if there is a problem with the receiver.

The channel is good (at least for short periods),
I switched servos and it still worked.

But the old servos do not respond to controls,
though they do find and hold center.

Any thoughts?
