e-E-Sky Honey Bee- Lama- Belt CP- E-Smart > Guruz Fiber Frame for HBK2 questions.

1. I can't get the stock main shaft to work with the fiber frame. Does only the supplied Guruz main shaft work?

2. The Guruz main shaft comes with a large washer and a small plastic washer. Where do these go? I do have the supplied metal ring between the pulley and the frame, though.

3. When using the Guruz main shaft, I can't get the holes to line up through the one-way bearing. The main shaft needs to go down further, but there isn't any more room.

Thanks

I have this frame. I'm in LAX at the moment. I'll send you a pic when I get back in Austin. I had to get "creative" with mine (using the guru main shaft). Ping me on Monday if you don't here from me sooner.

Well, I figured out how to get the supplied GuruZ main shaft to work with the fiber frame. I had to flip the pulley around where the little channel that holds the pin is facing downwards. I'm still scratching my head wondering why the stock main shaft won't work with the fiber frame. Makes me wonder what in the @#%@##$% were these brainiacs thinking .

Another issue is the left servo (aileron for my setup). This servo requires a very long push-rod in order to reach the swashplate. The supplied ball link push-rods won't reach. Lowering the swashplate in order to reach the push-rods doesn't work because the swashplate comes into contact with the frame at low pitch position. Again, I'm scrathing my head asking...why?

The fiber frame looks great and the CG is spot on without my 1500mAh battery being moved forward. The canopy also fits better versus the stock frame. However, for being such a great frame, it's a shame that a little more thought wasn't put into its design.

The proprietary shaft is one of the reasons I wasn't too thrilled about this frame. Also I didn't like the way the servos mounted.

I hated the shaft idea too but got three and since its just gonna be a scale occasional flight I should be OK with three I mean I still have the original main on the work bench after a little over a year. And I love the servo mounting gives me the TREX feel.

Regarding the servo mounting, I mentioned above that the servo mounted on the left side of the heli is quite a bit of distance away from the swashplate. Tyron02, what pushrod are you using on that servo? The stock z-bend and the GuruZ push-rods don't lengthen enough to reach the swashplate, unless the swashplate is lowered to the point of contacting the frame at low stick pitch.
