I see that there are two differnt locations were you "could" attach the tailboom braces to the frame...I seen pics of other peoples evo's and seen it done both ways.Question is, is there any reason that one would be better than the other? thanks.

I like the lower location. It helps to provide a little more support for the frames down there.
700N, EVO 50, Caliber 5, Beam 450, and comming soon TREX 9000 :)
Which ever position you choose put the bolts in from the inside. That way the sharper ends of the bolts wont pierce the tank.
From an engineering point of view the lower hole makes a wider triangle and so gives better support to the boom.
In a prang when using the lower hole encourages the frame to break off at that point.

Thats actually good to know because if I use the lower mounting holes I can use the top one for the header tank bracket. Thanks guys.

I like the upper position, and I always add the 60mm crossmembers on my Evo machines. This prevents damage to the fuel tank, strengthens the frame and makes the location a more reliable mounting point for the header tank. It also keeps the tank firmly in place during those wild piro moves!

Mount one at the upper position and one below the tank. I add some large fuel tubing as a cushion in the event that the tank moves enough to hit the crossmember.
