Hi.

Just taken 9252's and a 9350 out of the x'spec to put in a scale 50 I have and replacing with high res JR servo's that should be equal to 9255's. I'm not big into F3C but the freya is set up for it and I wanted rid of the 9350 on collective. I was going to use 9255's but the LHS convinced me the 9255's would suffer gear backlash after around 50 flights and would need to be regeared to maintain accuracy. Dunno about that and that may be for a hardcore F3C guy. Anyway I bought the DS 8325 and ds 8305's but the hole match is different and doesn't fit the freyas servo mounting holes. Not easy just to redrill the holes due to the plastic mouldings on the inside.

Any input from JR servo fans what you have done here??

Cheers

Absolutely not. I have a baseline Freya with JR 8311 on collective and 8231's on cyclics, and an X-Spec with JR 8717's all around . . .

Fu-who?

great so how did you fit them?

The holes dont line up with futaba ones. On my sceadu they provide two holes and they fit fine. On the plastic freya frame they only provide holes that fit futaba servo's.

cheers

Never had to do a thing . . . they just fit . . . the holes may not have been in perfect alignment, but it didn't prevent installation in any way.

I did that with the steel centres in place but had to stretch them towards the outside to get the screws in. Looks messy. I'll ditch the steel centres and use flat plates instead like on the collective servo which should hold them nicely and let the screws fit easily.

Dont know if you noticed but with the steel centres in once the screws are in they push hard on the rubber grommets on one side into the plastic servo mounts which will reduce vibration absorbtion as the grommets are no longer doing what they are supposed to.

Perhaps I am being too fussy...but once a mechanic....always a mechanic. It's just the wrong way to fit them.

The other way i will look at is to fill the holes with steel putty and redrill. I'll try the plate method first however.
Thanks for your answer.

No problem, and best of luck. I tend to be pretty picky about things as well, but this just never bothered me. I'd go look again, but I am 1300 miles from my X-Spec on vacation at the moment . . .
