Thunder Tiger Raptors 30-90 - Imperio > RAPTOR 90 Problems with tank using backpressure

I just started to breaking in my new OS 91 SZ with Cline carb and backpressure. After a few flight I see the tank is worn in this area of my Raptor 90 (it’s not a photo of the actual engine neither the worn tank):

Does someone had similar problem with a pressurize tank in Raptor 90? And if so is there a good solution for that? I have tried to sand the frame in the actual area to get rid og sharp edges where the tank is worn but that didn’t help. I’m considering using double sided tape (like the one I use for my gyro) to isolate the tank from the side-frame. I’m in a little doubt if that is a good solution for my problem since both the tank and frame is soaked with oil after a couple of tanks. I think maybe the tape wouldn’t stay in the area where it’s suppose to be.

I had kind of the same problem when I changed to Ys in my XeroG raptor conversion.
I used the famous "biltema's grønne" doublesided tape to fix the tank without having it rubbing against the frame...'

My solution uses fuel tubing. A piece split longitudinally, and inserted along the frame edge, and a second length laid in the gutter on the inside of the strut support/tank holder. (This is the tubing in the L-shaped depression referred to by the others.)

The photo shows the edge protection, and a replacement for a missing grommet.

The inlaying is a bit tricky, as the tubing wants to spring out, so you need to be patient.

Double-sided tape tends to rub & fragment.

Thanks both for fast reply!

It seems to be functional solutions both. I try the “Biltema’s Green” first and have some fuel tubing ready in my field-box.

You can also use ucut large gage silicone tubing between the aft plastic sideframe parts on the interior flat L-shaped recesses and the tank. This way it is nicely hidden from view

Hi!

I used an empty fuel can to cut pieces with the same size as the rear frames and placed them between the tank and the frames. Works perfect and you can't see them there either.

Andreas

I have wrapped the tank using packaging tank (has nylon threads)

This prevents the tank from ballooning.

Another vote for the fuel tubing within the L channel of the rear tank brackets. Works great and you can't see it in there.
