Want to buy a FP belt drive, but I am unable to find one. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. If they are made any recommendations.

Why wouldn't I be able to? The tail rotor still changes pitch. Or am i missing something?

LOL, I thought you meant a belt drive with a FP tail. I dont think you can. There was a Hornet Fp v1 or something like that, but I dont think they make thoes anymore.

Guess I stated that wrong. I see what you thought I said. I want a FP but do not want a tail motor. Want it belt driven.

I have heard of a mod for the Honey Bee. But I wouldn't know if the heli or the mod is any good. I am a believer in buy cheap get cheap. I have been flying for 15yrs. Started the hard way, crash and repair. This is for my son 11. I know a sim is good but he may take it as a video game. I would like to get him some real hands on. No co axial. Probably just buy the honey bee and some extra tail motors and blades I guess. Thanks for your input it is appreciated.

I can't remember where I found it but a long time ago when I was into the Blade CP's, I found a belt conversion for the Blade frame (which is the same as all the other micros, FP or CP) by some Australian guy. I think it would probably just be easier to buy some spare tail motors though in my opinion.

There is the Compy FP-BD, which I have. It Uses Trex tail parts and is a 300 class heli. Also soon to be released is a GURU-Z, which is supposed to be , sort of, an improved Compy.
There is also a FreeStyle, which is completely belt drive, including the mains. PM me for URL's for these kits.

Personally i wouldnt even bother. FP birds respond so SLOW. You will be much happier with a cp heli. World of difference when the heli is responding today not tomorrow morning.

Freestyle works great on an HBFP the kit rocks.. but it is 100 bucks.

and you need a fully working HBFP to apply it to.

I love both I have a Compy 300FP BD and the Freestyle.

I may be selling a complete Freestyle HBFP for @ 200 bucks very shortly..
