hi guys
looking through rr i noticed that some of you are using 13.14 and 15% pitch in idle up.....i use 10/10 wich gives me good climb out inverted or normal.i am a sports 3d flyer if i can say that.....not fully 3d yet,but in the margin....whats the benifit of upping my pitch to 13% to 15%..........cheers guys.regards helinelly

it's not realy the pitch that benefits. It does help though. If to low of pitch performance in climbs and other large maneuvers would be very poor. The biggest thing about increase pitch IMO is increase cyclic also.
You are running 10degrees pitch if you have 7 degrees of cyclic pitch your overall pitch is only 17 at the max travel of pitch and cyclic. If you have say 13 degrees of pitch and 7 degrees of cyclic your over then jumps to 20 degrees which doesn't sound like a huge difference but on the machine it makes quite a bit of performance difference.

Apart from;

faster climbouts,
faster forward flight,
almost instant directional changes,

Best of all alot more "WOW" factor.

BUT engine is prone to bogging if you dont practice good cyclic management.

Cheers............just do it......its so much fun.

I run 10-10 on my R90 V-Max and it does not bog down and it just "does it"!

The V-Max has ECCPM so I can adjust the clyclic pitch very easily, independently of the collective pitch, as indeed you can with the mechanical mix on the normal R90. Running about 8 degrees of cyclic pitch and the role rate is excellent without instability issues!

I run 12/12 collective 7 to 8 cyclic....

Some guys run like 15 but I get plenty of "pop" out of mine and I run about 1890 HS
