Align T-REX 600N 700N > T-REX 600N one way was jammed solid

Had a night mare changing my one way , it had seized solid , for some reason it was stuck on the main shaft also.

Had to keep moving the stop down and used 2 screw drivers to prise against the one way holder.

When I removed the one way and holder , I put it in a vice tried to turn it the opposite way to release the bearing , had no chance , bashed hell out of it just to see how tight it was and it would not move

Luckly I had a new complete one way and holder .

Am I right in saying that not only does the one way help with autos , it also stop the blades driving the engine , I found on fast decents giving full neg the engine would over rev , I would imagine if the blades turned faster because they are being spun up from the wind then they would have no choice but to spin the engine at that speed also.

Any way the next road test thursday will tell , may even try it tomorrow.

Sorry to hear you trashed your one-way housing. Yeah if it was sticking it would rev your motor but if it is working correctly it does not.

This is very common with the stock one-way bearing from Align. The solution is to install a quality one-way bearing from the Boca Bearing company. Since I installed one, I've had zero lock up and beautiful auto rotations: head-ache free.

I had my one way lock up just as bad. I had to split the main frame and toss the whole main shaft and bearing as it was stuck on the shaft. When I went and bought a replacement main gear case with bearing the package indicated it was a new part and my LHS advised that align had designed a new one with better tolerances that solved the locking issue. I don't know if it's true but mine has not locked up since and I have flown almost 10 gallons through it since then.

I flew it tonight , one way is fine now but my hyper rear bearing has gone really noisy probably did not help with it overspeeding from the head.

Make sure to replace them with Stainless Steel bearings.

One way bearing seizure is usually due to the lack of lubrication. You need to clena the one way bearing occasonally with bearing lubricant and apply grease afterwards. I have never had any one way bearing issues with surface and air RC.

I thought they fixed that problem? Did you have an old one way or a new one?

FYI - I used a crow bar.

Mine is from the first batch and it's been fine for over a year now with 236 flights, over 35 hours of air time and 1000's of autos. Never a lock up. If I happen to have it apart for cleaning or whatever I put a couple drops of tri flow in it but other than that I couldn't ask for more.

If you have one from the first batch, and its still going thats great. The reason for the lock ups was not repeat, not, due to lack of lubrication. I used to say the same thing until it happen to me.

I hope it never happens to you but, when it locks up solid, you'll know what lightningrc is talking about.

Thanks Zaneman

Its like as if the rollers have gone to far and locked and unable to come loose again.

May be the sleeve was too small on some of the earlier ones another quality thing.

I think that's exactly it. From posts in the past is seems there were sleeve that were just a touch over 12mm and those that were just a touch under 12mm. The undersized sleeves are the ones that people seem to have trouble with. My sleeve is just a hair over 12mm and my one way has never been an issue.

Yes thats what I was thinking as with the one way rollers theres like a came effect and if it goes so far they will just jam up .

Does anyone have a link (quality one-way bearing from the Boca Bearing company) or size for the one-way. I have a new kit coming and want to replace it before I put it together,
