What HS should I be running on my Fury?
It has a YS91, 8:45 gearing with MS710

A couple of of opinions would be great.
Really would like to know what is a good HS for sport, stunt, 3D, and hard 3D.
New to the 90......

A good day????......... is not crashing :)

I have always heard that 1900 is the speed to go for. I am not sure what the speed would be with that gear ratio however.

When I had that set up I ran 1800-1850. Higher than that and it sounded really hard on the engine. I'm sure you would shorten the life quite a bit by going higher as well.
I ran a SB-16 too. Pipe makes a huge difference when finding a head speed

I have run mine at 1750 with Radix 710's to 1850 with radix 690's.

Just experiment to find the response you like. Anywhere between 1700-1850 will do you fine for stunt, 3d, hard 3d. Me personally I run 1650 in normal (so I KNOW I'm not in idle up) 1750 in ST 1 and 1850 in ST 2.

You are limited by the gearing and engine RPM which will result from the extremely high headspeeds you see on some of the 50 size and smaller models. You will find that 1850 will be more than enough for what most mortal men are capable of dishing out. Collective management is the key. I am horrible at it. I love pitch!!

Wondering here, since I have only been flying 50s, with idle ups around 2100-2200 HS.....what if I went and put the HS on my Fury to that number, 2100-2200 and tried to fly.

I mean if I did not ask first, and make this mistake. What would happen to the heli, and motor. Has this been done by mistake before, have you heard of this happening?

Probably fry your motor. The electric guys run super high head speeds without problems.

I personally run 1900-1950 in IU2 but this is with an SZ.

Cook the motor would be my guess. I have not seen it personally nor have I seen it done. I did experiment up to 1950, it just made it a little to crazy for my liking.
