Thunder Tiger Raptors 30-90 - Imperio > RAPTOR 90 Main blade grip arms binding on flybar control rods.

I got my 60 put back together with a new GFORCE head on it and I noticed that the main blade grips are binding on the flybar control rods when I go negative pitch. It is not binding with positive pitch and I have tons of tilt. I have added some pic to help explane. As you can see the flybar has a lot of tilt to it with positive pitch and there is good clearance between the main blade grip arm and control rod. Negative pitch not much tilt or clearance. Any ideas!!!!!!!!!

You might try turning the oval links the other way around.
Might just make same problem in other pitch direction or it might be the sweet spot.

My Raptor 90 head's the same although it does look like I have more flybar tilt when at full neg pitch with the Quick UK head.

Really though, the flybar stays ptrtty close to 90 degrees to the mast at all times when in flight. It only moves a tiny bit.

I Tryed flipping the flybar rods with no luck . Taking a closer look, the real problem is that at full neg. pitch I can only get about 2-3 degrees of elevator input before the main grip arm binds against the flybar control rod. Dose anyone know if you can use the stock Raptor 60 grips with the GFORCE head or do I need to get new grips?

O.K. I talked to GFORCE and they said that I need to grind down the plastic grips or use metal grips. Has anyone tried the grips from correct heli. They look nice and have a great warranty.

"These parts are backed by CORRECT's lifetime warrantee we will cover and replace the damaged part even is your fault another word if you crash the chopper we will send you a new part!!!"

hi,

The raptor grips are designed with offset and not centered at zero pitch (FAI heritage), however with stock parts on the 90 3-D (with ample flybar teeter and plastic grips)you can get about 14/14 collective and 8/8 cyclic. This is more than ample. As the G-force head exceeds limitations by their own admission and their grinding suggestion it may not be the best choice for some modelers. Grinding down and weakening a plastic blade grip sounds like a Mickey Mouse solution and really does not surprise me. BTW, the TT metal grips have lower throw than the TT plastic grips. Quite an upgrade ....hey?
