Sig Kadet Senior ARF...

Kindof makes my Raptor 70 look small. Nice flying plane, very smooth and well behaved. I got it for my wife to learn on, but I must admit that I like flying it alot too. I find that flying the plane is a nice way to relax, where the helis are what I fly for "thrills."

The wing loading is too light though, and it is a little bit of a bitch if the wind gets above 10mph. I'm thinking about throwing a 1lb sandbag into the fuselage when the wind is gusty to help smooth it out a little.

flying planks

I've been flying planks for over 20 years , this heli stuff for just over a year and i don't think 20 years of flying planks helps very much at all with the heli lol.

That's a real nice looking Kadet, Mike. I have the ARF Kadet LT-40 for my grandson.

Hey, Ron, come out of the closet with the rest of us!

I love planks; started out with them, and picked up helis a few years later. But I'll always be a planker at heart.

Got these flying:

1. SIG Kadet LT-40/OS 40SF
2. SIG Somethin' Extra/YS 63
3. GP U-Can-Do/YS 91FZ

Near completion: SIG Four Star-40/OS 52 Surpass. This is the grandson's "second" airplane. Almost done covering it, which is my least favorite part of building.

Hanging up, temporarily de-activated:

1. Super Kaos/OS 40SF
2. Kangke CAP 232 Sport
3. SIG Wonder/OS 15FP

Partly framed-up: GP Contender/OS 70 Surpass. Been messing with this one for a couple of years. Other projects seem to push it aside. But I'm going to jump on it and get it finished after the Four Star.

Can we post pictures now without paying for the priviledge?

I 3D planks and helis.

I've flown planks for the past 7 years and helis for 4 now. I like helis more but planks are fun also.

Just finished building a 30% Lanier Edge 540T. Weather permitting it should be test flown tomarrow.

Sorry no pix.

It's all good fun,
Malorie

budc,
How's that Raven fly?
I had one that was cursed. Global builds 'em tail heavy as all get out. I lightened mine and it flew OK but it was still cursed. I traded it off to someone for a Decathalon.

mal,
the first flight about gave me a freakin heart attack!!!! first time with a tail dragger. the takeoff was a little long but ok.. when it got airborne, it instantly snapped 90 degrees to the left.. at about 15 ft i got it recovered and got altitude threw some right trim to it and got it semi flyable. turned downwind and base no problem and got short final it snapped again.. at about 8 ft i got it wings level and planted it to a 3 pt landing... i havent had the chance to get it back up yet since then. but when i got it to go semi straight, it flew pretty well.. i heard that they are all cursed... i think that they are easily influenced by p- factor.. that is the only thing i can come up with on mine. i didnt get the chance to put rudder to it to see if it was the problem or not..
that graupner 65 trainer is the best flying trainer i have ever flown tho.. that thing flies on rails.. i put an os 65 la in it and it hauls ass!! we figure about 85-90 mph. and it will do some 3d pretty well too!! but i dont like to get too crazy with it.. i like it too much
