| silver case motor, and no pinion against bearing.
I was noticeing a power loss over time,so i suspected something was up buttemps and run times were the same.then i had a unfortanate run in with the ground and with the motor out i noticed it seamed funny si i got to looking and i took the outer case off and saw that 6 of the 8 magnets were broken, they were still in place fore the most part and the inner windings look perfect.the motor has about 550 flights on it and it has been run hard, but i always monitor the temps and keep them below 130 f .could the impact of that crash broken 6 of 8 magnets, I wouldn't think so.
in any event it's a good motor except for the magnets, even the bearings seam fine.I did find some magnets for a scorpion motor that are close in size and should be stronger they measure 32 by 6mm were as the stk ones are 31 by 8mm and since the are stronger magnet i was wondering if they'll work.
OLDFART what you think?i called helliworld they said no replacement parts available. Is'nt the z motor's one in the same?maybye they have parts.
kinda makes me think of going with adifferent brand of motor that has parts availability like the scorpion's or with neu you can send it in and they will repair it.from the sounds of it the century motor is a throw away unit, one little thing goes wrong toss a $109.00 motor for lack of a set of $10.00 magnates. |
