I seem to be wearing out dampers at an alarming rate. What is the average amount of time I should expect out of them. I am flying 3D and using the orange K&B dampers.

My experience with the orange K&B dampers has been bad too. If I were you I would get the align dampers with the sleeve.

for me it depends.. if i am not doing hard maneuvers (crack, hard tic tocs, etc) they last fairly well.. however i have been practicing much harder 3d recently and they only seem to last about 30-35 flights.. i just put in some infinivision dampeners and will see how long those last.

BTW make sure you have the plastic sleeve in the head as it seems to allow the dampeners to last longer.. i was only getting 10-15 flights before i put those in..

I gave up on the K&B's. I like them when they're new. But for $7 a set, and only getting 15-20 flights on a set, I'll stick to the Align 90 duros. At least they last for 50+ flights.

The older I get, the shorter my attention....... Oh look. A shiny penny..

Must be a case by case basis on the Infinivations. I only got about 25 flights on mine before they got too sloppy. Any not the O-rings, but the inside of the plastic inserts. The spindle no longer fit snugly inside but instead rocked around. I use the Align's with the sleeve now. While I still only get about 20 flights on them, at least they are cheap.

Hey Nalizan, When I was flying the 600N I got only three flights if I was lucky on a set of dampeners with the plastic grips, however with the aluminum grips they lasted much longer. (about 50 flights)

Hope this helps,
Jamie

I have the plastic sleeve in the hub now as that is supposed to help. I'll see how much longer these new orange K&B's last now. I am also thinking about going to metal grips. I have been experiencing wierd tracking issues since I have switched to MAH blades and I am wondering if the plastic grips may be part of the issue. I have never seen blades go in and out of track so much during positive and negative pitch changes. Only changes I have made is the sleeve, the metal bearing blocks, and the MAH blades.

Nalizan, If your dampeners are wore out a little that could cause the tracking issues, or like you said the plastic grips may be the problem also.
