e-Electric Batteries & Chargers > Thunder power charging problem?

Hey guys, I have a thunder power super charger for my 600 Trex, 1 align 6s battery and 1 thunder power 6s. I can charge the align no problem. But when I plug in the thunder power and I try to charge it the charger reads, "Voltage error, wrong polarity"? Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Are you sure the charger is hooked up with the positives together and the neagatives together? Maybe your charge lead or the TP battery lead is put together so the polaritiy is crossed. It sounds like they are crossed somewhere or maybe soldered to the connector backwards. Double check your connections.

Yea, its the 1010c. All of my wires are in the right spot. I just charged the Rx battery and my align battery?

What balancer are using, the balance plug on TP is opposite from that of Align, Air Thunder, Protec, Common Sense, Mega Power, and the list goes on.

If you use an interface cable the balancer will tell the charger that the polarity is reversed.

I am using the thunder power balancer. Why will it charge all he other batteries and not the Thunder power? I am lost in the sauce.

That failure mode is used somewhat as a catch all. Most likely you have one or more cells in the packs below 3.2V. Use a dvm to probe the balance connector.

"Use a dvm to probe the balance connector."

What is a Dvm connector?

I have a similar issue.

I have 2 3S 2200 TP packs that I have used on my 450 without an issue.
I connected them together to test my 500. I only used the packes to set the speed controller so minimal drain.
Now when I connect them up to the 1010C with 210 balancer, I get the same error.
I change them as 3S lipos as I have done before.

When I go to the balance menu I can see the individual cell voltages are around 4.1v and are within .005v of each other.

Any explanation on how and why this has happened would be welcome.

Oh and when I hook up some other 3S TP packs they charge just fine so I know its not the charger / balancer.

Thanks.

DVM's usually come with a set of pointed probes, most of these can be used to probe the balance connector contacts from the side. Start with the black and white wires, these will be cell 1. Next probe the white and blue wires, these will be cell 2, next the blue and orange wires...cell 3.

Nofear, your problem is that you are trying to charge a pack that is at or very near fully charged, the 1010 will not let you charge a pack like this...it's a safety thing. Again, the "Voltage error, wrong polarity" failure mode will be activated.

Hi

I've got a 610 and if you connect the balance plugs in a certain order you get a message like this.

I plug in the main lead then the small balance plug followed by the larger balance plug.

Hope this info may help.

"DVOM- digital volt-ohm meter"

More commonly referred to as a DMM...digital multi meter. Which is probably what 99% of all hand held meters are.
