I have a brand new Multigov Pro and I'm having issues.

Setup:
DX7
AR7100
8717 servo (but test several others to confirm)
Aerospire LCD config tool

First pin - throttle input
3rd pin - sensor input (test works fine)
4th pin - servo (doesn't respond)

Well the instructions and labelling of all the pins etc all seem straight forward. The problems is the servo is not responding - not a peep! The Muligov blinks rapidly and the tool suggests setting up idle/min/max throttle values. But the servo wont respond so I keep getting "bad endpoints" error obviously. I've tried rebinding, I've tried a reset of the model and I've tried a Multigov reset. I've also tried other servos. If I plug the servo directly into the Rx it works fine.

My Rx is known to work with several other models perfectly fine?

Am I overlooking something silly, or does this sound like a faulty multigov?

When setting the throttle servo travel in the Multigov menu, the servo doesn't move until the next step which tests the low/high servo endpoints.

When you are trying to set the servo travel, does the number on the Multigov screen change when you move the throttle stick?

Have you double checked the plugs orientations in the Multigov? Negative wires towards the bottom, signal wires towards the top?

check the rpm sensor and make sure that thats not bad

Is thate the "RPM" pins or the "SENS" pins because the "SENS" pins picks up the magnet fine. The "RPM" pins is not connected

Does that need to be connected in order to set the endpoints?

From left to right:

Port 1: cable that goes into throttle channel
Port 2: cable that goes into rpm select channel (so you can switch speed)
Port 3: Sensor wire (governor)
Port 4: Throttle servo

Now the rest doesn't matter (its about mixture control).

The servo will not move until endpoints are set correctly in the governor configuration menu.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A NORMAL THROTTLE CURVE WHILE SETTING ENDPOINTS

. The most common error is that people are in idle-up1 (V shaped throttle curve) or even have a flat line curve (previous revmax owners). The endpoints can't be set properly if the curve is flat (servo always at 100%) or V-shaped (servo at 100% on low and high stick).

Go back and fix it. Then you can open a new thread about "tchavei - the greatest"

I do appeciate the help, but this is not the first governor I've setup.

I have a DX7 which when you set up a new model it gives you linear curves in each flight mode. Even if there was a V curve as you describe the numbers on the screen would still move, just not directly proportionate to stick deflection.

Not if there is a flat 100% curve. I know because I made that mistake once

If the numbers don't move, do the following test:

1. plug the servo directly into the throttle channel and see if it is moving (it shouldn't indicating a radio config problem) but IF it moves then...

2. Check the wire that goes from the throttle channel into the governor. Change it if you have to. The MGP reads the rx signal directly from the channel. The numbers you see changing (ms) are the impluses the MGP sees just as it would be a servo. They have to change when you move the stick.

PS2 - You don't happen to be in throttle hold mode? just checking...

PS3 - What ms number are you seeing anyway? Just to see if the multigov is seeing a full open or fully closed throttle.

0.00ms and it doesn't change with stick movement

The multigov is obviously on cause it's powered by the throttle ch and I can talk to it via the config tool, I just dont see the change in throttle value (on the config tool) when I deflect the stick on the controller. I have a linear throttle curve (the default on a DX7), I just dont understand.

0ms is bad... either it isn't reading the signal wire (replace the cable, check again) or there is a problem with the unit... even a flat throttle curve should give something like 1.xxx ms... it isn't detecting any signal input... The multigov is powered by the throttle channel (black and red wire) and also by the rpm select channel (black and red wire) I believe. Even if it is on, that doesn't mean the signal wire is ok.

Just plugged the Multigov into throttle on an AR7000 in my Trex600N which is my thrash machine working sweet as, 0.00ms....it lies!

It must be faultly there is no other explaination that I can see

Did you try the other extension wire included with the kit? While every unit is tested before shipping, something might have happened to the unit or it possibly slipped by.

The "SET IDLE, HIGH" option should show a non-zero "ms" if plugged into the receiver and the receiver is working.

If you cannot get it to read the receiver signal and you tried the other extension wire, there is a problem. PMed you to arrange a replacement unit if needed.

Just like to follow up and say that it was definately a faulty unit, obviously just a one off. Bob at Aerospire was great to deal with, the unit was replace no questions asked.

Multigov Issues

I just did a google search for "multigov bad endpoints" and found this thread.

I am experiencing exactly the same issue and have contacted Bob at Aerospire for a replacement.

Wish I would have searched for this 2 hours ago instead of trying everything under the sun to get this working.

My first multigov worked flawlessly. Oh well bad luck.

Actually using a AR7000.

Bob returned my email in a matter of minutes, excellent service. The only bummer is I am out a Multi gov while I ship it back and wait for them to determine the issue and resend another

For $90 I am actually just thinking of buying another so I can fly already.
