Avant Aurora - EFX - FX > Spartan Gyro + 8900G, what are your settings?

Assuming you're using X9303 Spektrum:

Which method are you using to set gains?

Gyro Sens or ATV?

What percentage(s) are you using for either Gyro Sens or ATV value(s)?

Do you have different flight mode values for your tail?

My headspeed is set for 1950 on YS motor and using 105mm tail.

Thank you!!

I have the Spartan on my Aurora. The gain is set to 40%, head speed 1950rpm. The spartan manual say's if you have to set your gain below 35% then the mechanical gain is too high. I had to drill a new hole about 2mm in from the closest hole on the JR round servo wheel. This gryo is working great!

ATV

With a 20mm servo horn one one machine I am seeing 40% gain, with the double arm on the other machine, on the furthest hole out I am seeing 35% gain in the Travel Adjust Menus.

Never have, dont see a need.

Sidenote,

The sweet spot on the YS is around 15300 rpm, which is around 1850 Rpm. Ive been running 1900 just fine, but I would be afraid of sacrificing the life of the motor at 1950.

Hey Jason, would you say the YS SR would be perfect at 1900rpm on most 90's...(700N or Avant)

I'll give it a try running the headspeed at 1900.

Thanks Jason!

You can easily figure out what headspeed to run with the engine rpm and the gear ratio.

Gear Ratio / Desired Motor RPM(In this case 15300)=Headspeed

At 1900 headspeed the SR is spinning around 15600-15700, so while under load, its right in the sweetspot

It needs to be stated though that guys like Jason KEEP the machine loaded and in the 15,300 RPM range. If you are a sport flyer/mild 3D or etc pilot then you need to run it at a lower head speed like 1850 RPM on the head NOt 1900 RPM. Jason is just running it for a tad more pop and bite. His flying style and needle settings will be lots different than a lot of yours on here.
Running 1900 and pushing the YS to its limits is stupid if you aren't looking for that last 5% of performance.

I just thought I'd mention that. As your flying evolves your needs do as well. I see so many guys at fun flys hovering around and doing mild 3D with a head speed through the roof. Why, they saw some pro do it. I'll get off my soap box now.

I hate to call out a master like yourself but what you meant to say is:

desired engine rpm / gear ratio = head speed.

Obviously, you had the math correct, you just said it wrong.
