| Hello All, I just finished my 4th. gallon on the Aurora, and I just tried a set of SAB30g paddles...it's perfect for me!! I previously was using a 90mm V paddle 20g, but using 8v. and 8717's on active head settings, the heli was very sensitive to cyclic and trim inputs. With the SAB paddles, they have a wider profile, and a blunter more rounded edge, also larger in size. This gave me the perfect cyclic feel, powerful and quick, without being overly sensitve.
It now feels like a very light Synergy, but more precision on cyclics. I am so pleased with the Aurora's flying qualities, mechanical soundness, and it's really user friendly to work on. This heli does the best piro flips of any heli I have flown! It tracks like it's on rails, with a powerful groovy feel.
I'm using a SZ cline and Viper head(os 8 and enya 4 plugs) with a Curtis MP5, Curtis 30% fuel, revmax gov. set at 1830 for milder 3D, 1910 for quicker flying, Radix 690's, 105 V tail blades, +- 13 on collective, Solid G, DX7 radio, fromeco 5200 ion. batt. I have found that the engine tends to lean at 1/4 tank, even with a header tank and cline. I'm planning on using a mixture servo with Multi gov pro. next.
As a building note, I slightly lengthened the 4 holes on each of the start shaft bearing locating plates. Only about a 1/2 mm with a dremel tool. This allowed me to get a greater pinion to main gear clearance. I understand Augusto has made a change to these plates.
