OK, here's the deal. 12 flights since new. YS50 with Hitory pipe. I am running the new JR 7100 RX with the built in gov.

there apears to a very faint pulesing sound at mid stick, mostly noticeable in hover. Inaddition, when I unload the heli in a manuver, the is a very quick loss of power and interuption in smoke(no fuel maybe?) I have tweeked the needle to both extremes and messed with the mid-range. Also swaped the plug. no change.

the Next move is to pull the tank and re-plum it with new tubing.

any input?

Dave

How is the pressure at the end of the flight? The YS tunes diferently of a OS. I would give you my settings but I havn't touched the low needle for almost a year now (can't remember anymore) and the top needle is controlled automatically (between 1.75T and 2.25T).

Loosing power usually is due to lack of pressure (stuck check valve?) or fuel starvation

Tony

Thanks.

Today I re-did all the tubing. I pressure checked the tank and all pluming a bucket of water. no bubles. I am going to fly it in the morning. But I am pretty sure there were no leaks before. I did notice that it took a fare amount of pressure to blow throught the one way......is that normal?

I the prblem persists, I will pull the plug on the gov.

More to come.......

A great deal of pressure to blow through the one way...you end up looking like a puffer fish...lol

Good luck Dave!

Remove the spring from the check valve. TB and JK gave me that tip when I took their 3d class.

If the one way is hard to blow through, shorten the spring or as carcrasher mentioned remove it. I prefer to shorten it slightly as there is no chance of back leakage that way. Both my 91 SR's and 50 ST's have about 4 coils removed from the springs. If it sticks shut you'll wreck the engine with a lean run.......

I got a used one like that. Ran like complete and total crap until I put an "unmodified" check valve back on . . .
