e-Electric Batteries & Chargers > to charge or not to charge, that is the question...

So about a minute into my third battery today, the wind really, really picked up. As if on queue, the moment the wind picked up, I got bitten on the back of the knee by a fire ant. I figured the gods must be telling me something, so decided to pack it up for the day. Two more any bites later, and I had the heli on the ground. 5 seconds after that I had a dead fire ant squished between my palm and leg.

I had only used about 1 1/2 minutes of my battery, which I usually fly for 6. My question is, should I charge that battery, or leave it as is and just fly it for 4 1/2 minutes the next time I go out? Obviously I'd prefer more flight time which would mean charging it, but I'm not sure which is better for the battery... What would you guys do? Charge it? Or fly the rest of the battery next time?

I'd just stick it on a 1c charge just to top it off, stops you forgetting next time you go flying

I don't think lipos have memory issues.

Either way is fine.

If it was me, I'd charge it and be ready to maximize my air time.

Lipo's do not have memory.

You can fly for the other 4 1/2 minutes or just store the battery until the next flight.

Someone on here said top-up charging is using up the battery's cycle life. I don't know how true that is but I am bias to agree.

Drunk Monk and CAM are right...

Hi Guys!
Those batteries do not have memory and you can top it off without problem. A good charger will simply stop when the battery is full.
Do not count on the fact that you will remember that there is 4 and a half minutes left. You may forget it
Topping off a Lipo will not account for a complete cycle, so do not worry about that.
