Hi Folks I've been doing some flying lately. I now have about 212 flights on my 600 3d fly bar version. Doing simple rolls flips stall turns etc. just the basic sttuff. I have some vibes showing up on the vertical fin and on the skids. The tracking is dead on, the fly bar is centered all the nuts and bolts are tight. Does any one have any ideas on what one should look so that I can eliminate the vibration? Kindly let me know Thanks D

with nothing bent or broken i would be looking at a worn bearing, perhaps the thrust bearing in the tail grips ? check for 'notchiness'

I would recomend the following:
check all bearings including the motor check tail shaft/rotors/hub assembly check belt tension check main gear for wobble look for any slop in your servos or linkages
After 212 flights and assuming no crashes or hard landings, I suspect your problem is most likely a bad bearing. You may have one spining or moving in its recess. Don't forget the belt tensioner bearings.
Good luck!

tail rotor vibesWell, I did some feeling around the tail rotor and found there was a lot of play in the blade grip where it screwed onto the blade holder. Switched out all bearings and now everything is tight. Will fly tomorrow. Let you know how it works out. Thanks deepak

Spindle straight? Could be bent from hard landing? Not running crap rotors? Could have thrown a weight. Did you increase of decrease the RPM to see if it comes or goes?

re spindleNever took it out of the head and rolled on a piece of glass. Vblades track properly and blade grips roll smooth to the touch. Not exactly sure what you mean by throwing a weight or increase od decrease rpm to see if it comes or goes? D

The weight in the blades could have shifted. Increase/decrease the throttle curve to see if the problem happens only at a certain RPM....Ron

deepak, I had a similar vibe that was easy to fix.
tracking was fine, everything looked right, except in climbouts where I figured out it was the blades weren't rotating on axis.
all of the m0915 grips I have tried are tapered and very few blades are a perfect fit inside them except a few of the Mikado blades
Maybe worn out damper rubbers in the head. Have they been changed at all since the first flight?
Regards
Fergus

re vibesHey, Thanks for the responses. I have not changed the dampers and the head is not as rigid as it once was. Perhaps I'd give it a try. Thanks Deepak

tail rotor vibesHi Folks Checked the main rotor head today. Sheesh, found a destroyed thrust bearing. The balls of the bearing wer all over the place. There was a lot of play in the head as well. Changed the thrust bearings and added the k&s dampers. Will fly again tomorrow and let you know how it turns out. Thanks for the advice guys D

K&S or K&B??? I still cross them up but I figure you mean K&B. If you are going to use those, use the thin shim from the Mikado 3092 dampener set between the dampener and the grip...the other shims (i.e. 2755, 2756) are too thick and will squeeze the thrust bbs.
