Having a problem with tail wiggle and wanted to see if anyone here could help me out.

My paddles are level, my blades are tracking, brand new main motor, fresh batts, tail boom is tight and does not wiggle itself.

i can hear the tail motor speeding up and slowing down really fast. I would say 2-3 times a second.

Do you think it is the tail motor?

My original 4#3 is very sensitive to the mounting of the RX/Gyro, if it isn't just right the tail wiggles as you describe. I've removed it and remounted with various double sided tape until I found a setup that seems to work well. Also, make sure the flybar rod is centered with equal distance to each paddle, if it's off just a bit, that's enough vibration to give the gyro fits

That said, it's always a possibility that the motor is on the way out, my 4#3B tail motor was bad out of the box, swapped it out and it flys perfectly now...

I learned to fly on a Trex, I learned to crash on a Blade CP...

oo.. good idea. Thanks for that.

I'll check out my rx/gyro stuff when i get home from work. I haven't had to have the canopy off since my last motor replacement 3 months ago. hehe.

Thanks again... i'll post what fixes it, if anything, so someone else will know.

well.. looks like my flybar is the right length on both sides... i strapped down the rx/gyro with a zip tie, it doesn't budge at all now..

still a wag.. any other ideas?

Take the zip tie off.

The most common problem is the boom is slightly split at each end where the screws secure it.

That will cause a wag. Take the boom out a little (wire should be long enough) let some CA soak into the fibres and when dry slide back in and lightly tighten it up.

Boom split was the ticket.. after replacing my tail motor the problem went away... only to return. Apparently during teh tail motor replacement, the tail boom got tweaked just right to keep it tight. Now its loose again.

Good call :-)
