I just tried this with 5s FP3300/25C.
I'm using a Jazz 80 ESC at 90% and the motor gets pretty hot ~171 F
The batteries are brand new so I just hovered it but I sure don't like the high temps. I certainly expected it to run much cooler.

Any comments ?

I run this Hacker A30-12XL with 6S setup so I use 18T/19T and 3000rpm 3D Gov mode. The tempurature can go upto 70-80 Celsius. It is very hot. But if I use 20 degree timing, then the temp will drop.

I am using Jeti66 with the following setup.
19t, 14-Pole, 25 timing, Gear ratio 1:5.0, 3D Gov, 3000rpm, throttle response 0 (I remember it means no delay).

It is fun to play with Jeti66. It is very convenient to use the Jeti box to change the setting in Jet ESC. It has built-in BEC with switching 5.5v. You can see the difference everything when you change the timing, throttle response, Gov mode and rpm. Therefore you can change every details until you feel comfortable.

Isn't that too hot for the motor ? I'm worried about the life of the magnets etc... I'm used to much lower temps.

Just curious, how long have you been flying this setup ?
Thanks !

I have been flying this setup for 50 flights. I feel it is a way too hot too. Since I am still testing it, it is just a reference for me now.

With 25 degrees timing, it is very very powerful. If you do not need this hot setup, you can go down between 20-25 degrees timing and constant GOV mode instead of using 3D Gov mode. They all can help to have a lower tempurature.

By the way, we are just using + - 10 degrees pitch and it is very enough for any 3D I can fly at the moment. I think it is because we are flying 3000rpm.

I have been flying this Lepton for more than 200 flights. I remember my motor should have had the same tempurature before this setup. However, I did not pay attention on the temp before I changed using Jeti66 and this setup.

One other thing to check is your timing on your ESC. I'm not familer with the jazz but on my Castle I set it for High and that may be part of why mine runs so cool.

I found that higher timing will have lower current flow (lower amp) in the Jeti66 record but hotter battery and hotter motor.

In order to have cooler motor, you need to play around with different timing.

The problem is I don't think there is a way to change the timing on the Jazz... it automatically adjusts itself to the motor.

I don't know about Jazz. One Jeti66 can buy 2 Align 60A ESC so it is about double.

Someone might say the measures are not accurate but for me the most important thing is you can adjust every details until the flying style/performance you like. Moreoever, you can change the settings simply use the JetiBox during the flights. Surely you will love it.
