Never have a "last flight" - it usually is.... had it happen twice to me!

Never take a picture of a heli until after is maiden flight - had a beautiful Vario Airwolf crash on the maiden after I specifically told the guys NOT to take pics...

I guess we're all a bit superstitious somewhere.....

I forgot about the picture thing. In my planker days I once took a picture of my latest creation just to fly it through a tree on it's maiden flight.

Don't have many pictures of my helis. The ones I do have have been flying for a while before the pic is taken.

Two weekends ago after finishing my routine I came in for a landing. I noticed that I had some fuel left and said to myself, one last flip. I got a little higher, did the flip, and came back in for a landing. At about 15 feet up my tail gave out and I crashed.

I never borrow anything in the field. Even If I run out of glow plugs, I will never ask for one.

Oh, and after my crash a friend offered me his heli to fly (I didn't have my Vibe that day). I appreciated the offer but respectfully declined. You don't borrow a mans underwear and you don't borrow a mans heli!

A friend of mine (RR member), run out of helis in the field due to crashes. Then a friend of him offered him to fly a 3D plane. I hope you can guess what happened to the plane as well....

My point exactly!! I would feel horrible if I crashed someone’s heli. I would feel even worse if someone crashed mine

Last weekend a friend asked me if he could try my Vibe 50. He already has a 600N and wanted to see the difference. I told him "I'll do you a favor and say no, If I say yes then you are going to spend more money and buy one."

Needless to say he did not fly it.

On Sunday, I was at the field, my main and only heli down for parts. Friend let me fly his 600N. No crashes, but the muffler came loose and the swash started to come apart. I did get 4 tanks of fuel through it, totally got my fix

The heli was trying to tell you something

That raises another point. What if you do borrow someones heli and something mechanical goes wrong and you crash. Even if you are certain that it was not your fault he may not believe that. Things start to get really messy.

I would have never believed in karma a few years ago. Today it's a different story. I've seen many things that all I can contribute them to is bad karma. Never wish a crash on anyone. Just call me Errol.

Well I've ditched all of my superstitions (for now).

I took tools to the field twice now.
I don't worry about the "last flight" thing.
And I don't care about the C word....
cr......cras....crash...
Ok I still don't like that word.

But I found a video on here with a guy talking about a turbine bird,
and basically he says don't think about how much you've spent on it,
you bought it to fly it.

Every since then,
I have been quite a bit calmer (not completely because I had a mechanical issue the other day and still brought it down without crashing....and as soon as it sunk in I fell to my knees because I couldn't stand anymore).

U77171,

I would have to say,
If you fly someone else's bird,
do so knowing that you are responsible for it while under your control.

If you give your bird to someone else to fly,
do so knowing that it was your decision to give up control so you shouldn't really hold the other guy responsible for what happens.

I dare say, that no matter how good I get I don't THINK (never say never) that I would fly someone else's stuff.

Because even if I wan't going to be responsible for damage to the bird (if something went wrong),
If someone got hurt (or property other than the heli was damaged) because of the other person's negligent maintenance I would be responsible for that.

(Yes this is coming from the guy who started the "ghetto" choppers thread. I learned a lot there.)

don't tell me you've changed your ghetto bird ways. i think esky has had people spying on you to remodel their new birds. i agree, if you ask someone to fly your bird it's on you. if they ask to try your bird it's on them. it should always be discussed before take off though to avoid the akward kicking the dirt swinging your foot going um, huh, um. my buddy recently told my i should try out his raptor 50 i had visions of buying him blades even though he offered i would've felt responsible and regretfully said no thanx. man i'd like to fly it. just wouldn't like to buy it.

It relates to the "law of atraction" YOU ATRACT WHAT YOU THINK if somebody has heard of this! out of (the secret) book.
If you go out to the field thinking you are going to crash you're going to because you focus on what you don't want and the universe only responce to you're thoughts without minding if you want to or not.So think positive next time you are going to fly! just try it!
it really works and you'll have one heck of a day!!!!!!
