Do you fellows flying multi-blade heads have a favorite type of gauge for setting the blade pitch? I saw a G-force gauge on the Century web site that uses a pendulum type of pointer. I was wondering if this type is easier/more accurate to use with a 5 blade head.

Your eyeball must be "calibrated" to a MUCH closer tolerance than mine Emile!

I was concerned about the lack of a flybar to sight in on. Guess you just use the center of the other blade grips to center the gage?

something like that Larry
seriously,
since most of these heads have a flat surface on the top, you can put a ruler or some rigid straight edge on top and use that for reference. i have taped my plastic ruler to the tops of some heads or even a flybar (one that is straight of course) works quite well.

Good, the cost of a new pitch gage can go towards other scale goodies!

Thanks, Emile.

Hey Larry,
my last post did nt suggest the use of those items in lieu of a pitch guage, they just help to give you a refference with the use of one, so you will still need to have the pitch guage. it doesnt however rquire any fancy schmance pitch guage tho. i like my miniature guage from like ten years ago, it has alway done me well.
