Nothing more dramatic than the clock striking 12 each night.

Nobody worry. Since all this is based on the Mayan calendar ending in 2012, I decided to check another source. The calendar on my Casio watch runs all the way up to Dec.31st, 2099. It's a G-Shock, too, so I'm betting on that date...

Obviously everyone isn't going mad just because the Mayan calendar alone. It's not just that, there are many religious text, natural events, and scientific minds that are concerned on this issue. I'm not going into detail with what religious text and what natural events are going to happen, but I know when many people are concerned with a particular topic; they should at least give it some more considerations. This is something completely different from Y2K.

Actually, I'm having a hard time finding scientific concerns. It appears the only scientific anomoly is the sun shifting it's poles to signify the end of it's current 11 year cycle. Most everything else is religious, which is bunk to begin with. There is always some whacked out religion saying the end is coming. If we believed them all, we'd all be dead...but we aren't.

I just read the frist couple of replys so forgive me if this is a repeat of what someone else said.

Isn't 2012 when we return to the moon?? Now that is something I am looking forward to. I vaguely remember the first time we went, this time is going to be a media odesy where we will be able to see, real time, the experiments and activities not only on the tv, but the internet as well. Log on to NASA.gov and watch the launch of the next shuttle mission. It is exciting to say the least.

And for once on this site, can we get over your political views, the cost and wether it is worth it or not and enjoy living in a time when we can actually be a part of this.

Sorry to go off subject, thought it was worth mentioning. Don't worry, the earth will wait to come to an end until after we get home from the moon
