Hi,
I'm getting a Hornet CP soon.
This is going to be my configuration:
1)Hornet CP with speed 300 motor
2)GWS 100 ESC
3)GWS 6ch micro rx
4)GY240
5)Hitec HS50 for tail and HS55 for cyclics
6)Etec 1200mah 2S cells

Anyone would like to share their configuration?
Any comments?

Hornet

I use 4 HS50's a Hacker B20-22s with a schulze 20HE and 3 cell Etec 1200 Li-Polys. Everything else is the same as your setup. If you haven't already purchased what you've listed I'd recommend going with all HS50 servos and a 3 cell battery pack if your speed control will handle the voltage.

Well, I intend to keep the speed 300 for a while. Just want to fly mild aerobatics with it. I read that 2 Etec 1200mah will be sufficient for the speed 300.
I will get 3 Etec 1200mah if I go brushless.

CP Hornet

I'm currently putting together a CP Hornet using the MS 001 brushless motor and the MS 016 speed controller with GY 240 and HS 50 servos, Berg 6 channel Rx, the stock 7 cell Nimh battery pack, anybody got any experience with this setup? I'm new to electrics, normally burn nitro instead of electrons
Thanks,
Keith

Go to 8 cell NiMh's or 3 cell LiPoly packs for your CP or you will be disappointed with the lack of power if you can get the Hornet off the ground. 7 cell packs do an adequate job on an FP with the stock speed 300 brushed motor but won't let that BL motor sing like it could with more volts. I'd go with a three pack of E-tech 1200mah LiPoly cells. Great power and over 20 min duration when set up properly(gear lash, throttle and pitch curves, etc.)

Get a Berg Rx. You will never regret it

The Rx sits in such a close proximity to the engine that all the RMI/RFI crap coming from it really drives the Rx mad. I put Berg. Silky smooooth performance with no glitches (they can really ruin an otherwise great day).
My setup - FP at the moment (until I master it). CP sitting in the box waiting. HS55 for cyclic, stock motor (300) with metal pinion, the forementioned Berg and a GY240. GWS PICO BB for tail control. 8 cell NiMH and a KOKAM 1020 2x2 waiting for a connector job. Another HS55 patiently waiting for the CP work to be completed.
