e-E-Sky Honey Bee- Lama- Belt CP- E-Smart > BeltCp vs MiniTitan

Hi all,

I've been flying the little king for 6 months now as a park flyer and
I still want something handy and light to fix in case of a crash, but I find the King a little too small and light for sports flying and mild aerobatics

Thus, I am eying the BeltCp or MiniT
The belt is less expensive than the TT, and I could use the king's controller and a spare Esky 3800kv motor/10T I have at hand. I would go with hs65's for servos.

Now the questions: does the TT have a much "wider" and stable flight pattern than the Belt (I am talking about pitchyness in FFF and wide loops for example) or do they compare pretty much?
Can I swing 325mm's blades on a stock BeltCp?
Who's flown both? How do they compare overall? (stock propulsion for both)

Thanks guys

Oh OH !! Here comes the "Titan rules" post's I have not flown both or either but I get the feeling the general concensus is that the Mini titan is a better quality and more capable machine Damn I didn't want to downplay Esky -- but I feel I must

Toolman has owned both and should be along shortly to add his commentaty. As quick preview, he still has the Mini. But the Belt is gone.

"Titan Rules"

The Belts ok, but it would not be long until you wanted somthing better. Might as well get the Titan and be done with it.. It Rocks!
And yes, I have flown both..

I just didnt know what to say to that. I mean a BeltCP cant fly better than my king with the same powerplant 300HDX3800rpm and 10t 90% throttle curve. Be like driving a bus But everyone knows a Trex is better than a MT.

I have yet to see a Belt CP perform like this In such close quarters Obviously the pilot has alot to do with it-- but still

I wouldn't know but,

Will that motor used on the King, work well on a Belt or TT?

The Esky 3800 will work in the Belt but the HDX 300 -3800 will be tapped to it's limits-- might work for a short while till you let the smoke out You'd also be better off with a 30 or 35 amp ESC -- not the Esky 25 amp ESC.

Comet,
Ive had both. Over 600 flights on the belt and over 150 on the Mini now. I can easily say the Mini is 10 times better than the belt cp and the belt cp is 3 times as nice to fly as the king. The Mini Is very stable and will make you look like a pro if you get it set up properly. The belt cp Flies good but is not of the same quality as the mini.

If you are new to the hobby i would suggest you get an HBK2 to start with. Much cheaper to fix. The skillz you learn with it with make you a much better pilot when you move on to a 450 size. Trust me on this. You want to keep the cost down until you get really good. When youve gone several hundred flights with no major crashes then move up to something with good quality. By then you will know what you want for batteries radio and new heli. Yeah, get hooked on the HBK2. She was fun while i had her.

This to me is a humourous subject.

I never flown an MT but I own 2 beams and 1 beltcp. I am assuming MT is in the same class as Beam (but best leave Beam vs MT discussion for another day.. he he)

I am convinced that in any field we will be able to find a small group of flyers who make it their sacred charter to prove they can do the impossible Tell them stock beltcp is hard to do mild aerobatic on all stock components... they will go all out spend months to figure out how to do it just to prove you wrong?

Tell them beltcp cannot perform hard 3D, chaos or piro tictoc to name a few maneuvers.. they will spend a fortune upgrading and modding the heli just to prove you wrong.

I actually find it hilarious.. just the other day I told them stock beltcp can't do a high-speed reversed hurricane on stock gyro. lets see how long it take for them to prove me wrong..

Dont get me wrong. I flew my belt cp stock from day one. I never upgraded. It flew great even when i forgot one of the blade grip bearings. You can do anything you want with it. I was never good enough to do more than fff.

toolman.. beltcp flew great out of the box. its true.

I learned to fly on beltcp, it served me well too. But one windy day, it was swept away causing me to panic. I was unable to control the heli aileron roll fast enough to prevent crash. To this day I can only speculate what when wrong; gyro is non-headhold, thus prone to drift by wind, e-sky servo not fast and strong enough to give me the desired cyclic in time, wooden blade not rigid enough to give me the desired pitch in time, headspeed not high enough . All I know is, it was not my fault I crashed on that day (I know you hear that alot but I can list many crashes due to pilot error but this is NOT one of them)

dont get me wrong beltcp has a place in this hobby, but whenever ppl tells me that beltcp is as good as MT/T450/Beam, I would take my stock beltcp out, do a few loops, rolls, funnels or perhaps piroflip abit. Then I would say, yes its capable but its not as good as MT/Beam/T450.. and it can do everything beam can do.. but it takes alot out of the pilot due to its limitations.
