Radio - Servo - Gyro - Gov - Batt > Problem with CY Solid G ?

Just installed this on my Extreme. I have gone through the setup with display and all went well. My problem is I notice strange reaction from the gyro on the bench. On my 401 and 770, even on the bench, the tail moves as fast as I can give input. For example I can go full left/right quickly and the servo is right there. On the CY Solid G, I can actually move the stick fast enough, and not really moving it that fast, and outrun the tail. I can go a bit faster and the tail will not even move.

Did I get a bum Solid G ? Im concered with even trying to take my Extreme up with this delayed reaction to input becaue even moving the stick slow on the bench you can see the delayed reaction time.

Any help appreciated.

The Solid-G acts weird sometimes on the bench. If you give a udder input does it go to max deflection? When initiallizing does it lock at is center??

I would try to fly it being very cautious. But even with strange bench behavior it flys normally, and very locked in. As soon as you go into a hover, the tail should not move at all.

Its centering after it initializes. The only strange this I see is the exaggerated delayed response and the fact that I can actually move the rudder stick fast enough and the tail does not move at all.

As has been stated, with the Solid-G on the bench, if you give left or right rudder inputs and move the tail pitch slider all the way to one limit or the other it will appear to get "stuck" for a moment when you give the opposite input. This is normal and is explained in the addendum to the manual. Don't worry about it. It will work fine in the air.

Ok I must have missed that part. Good to know.

I also just read on the site about units that needed to be cleaned? Stated that current units would have a green QC stick on the amp and the box. Mine has the green stick on the amp. Any other way to confirm besides the other sticker... which mine does not have?

The problem was a while ago, so myself, if the amp is tagged with the sticker, I'd call it good . . . after all, it's the amp they cleaned, not the box . . .

Yep, it is normal. Basically it is heading hold on steroids, its why the tail holds so good and piros so smooth. It doesn't sense the heli rotating and when you give it a right (no matter how much), it goes full because it doesn't sense the heli moving so its basically using full travel at that point to try to get it going, then when you let go of the rudder, it senses the heli is still not rotating and then thinks that it has to hold that rudder position to keep the tail straight.

The way it works by blending your input and its inputs like that is probably why I so much like the feeling of it in the air and why its so darn good at pirouette consistency and in my opinion is it is the best there is right now.

If you have the Trex 600N as an option in your heli menus, it is the newest version. The older versions only have the Trex 600E selection.

Like everyone said, the problems you are seeing on the bench is normal. The Solid-G rocks, you are going to love it!!
