| The two leads that go to the rudder and gain channel on the RX *will* carry the variable voltage - that's how the RX gets power. The two that go to the gyro will be fixed at 5. If you get variable voltage to the gyro, you probably have them reversed. As others have already stated, the signal is a simple wire pass through, so the gyro will work either way, but at the wrong voltage if you get it backwards . . .
