What's the Canopy Mounting Rubber for or more precisely where do put it? (E4-1504)

Thanks

Its for where the canopy goes on the heli with those studs near the main shaft. The Rubber helps dampen it and helps it stay tight on the studs

I think CoasterFuelPhil is referring to the canopy grommets. The canopy mounting rubber just cushions the canopy against bottom plate. You can stick it to the bottom of the bottom plate so that it's in between the bottom plate and the canopy.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

You are talking about the rectangular piece of hd foam with the self adhesive side, not the grommets, right?

On some setups it will snug up the canopy and keep it from flopping against the esc tray. Mine doesnt need it.

I put mine on the heli itself, where the canopy snugs up to the bottom plate...

But Honey, I can't live with just stock.....

Yep, on bottom plate between canopy and the heli.

Once your past smelling something, you got it licked!!!

The foam rubber pad will wear out faster if mounted on the bottom frame. This is due to a little flange of the canopy rubbing againt it. It is intended to be mounted on the bottom of the canopy so only soft foam rubber will contact the CF frame.

You can actually let the rubber stick past the bottom canopy by about 2-3mm so it will also prevent canopy banging against the front LG. New canopy comes with grommet and rubber so it will stay fresh.

Yeah had me fooled a little too I stuck it on the inside bottom of the canopy as well as I figured it was to add a little pressure on to teh canopy mounting and prevent the canopy 'chattering' on the bottom esc tray. Guess my thinking wasn't too far from everyone elses

I like the idea of protruding a little to prevent the canopy banging on the skids. Might do that for the next canopy.

I have also done a little beam build blog as well (if anyone is interested).

Jiberjabber.
I see you listed a 3154 futaba tail servo. Will it hold the tail with the Scorpion 6? I use them on micros but wouldnt think they are fast/strong enough for a Beam with the 4400kv Scorpion.

It is early days yet Jimmy - I have test hovered in the Garden, but it has yet to have a propper flight. I need to swap over the pinion from 13t down to 11t and re-cable tie a few bits back on to the heli before then.

I was a bit impatient when I test hovered it and must admint to whacking the throttle up for a quick pop up I can't remember seeing any tail kick, but there again I haven't set up the gyro and tail yet, so if I did see it I would have written it off against not having done that yet.

I never encountered any problems with this servo on the Trex with a 430XL so shall be interesting to see how it works on the -6.
