e-Electric General Discussion > Thnder Tiger Mini Titan E325 or T-REX 450?

I recently won a AXI AXI2217/5H motor while attending a Heli Fun Fly. I am considering getting into an electric heli and use this motor. It is designed for a 450 class heli and am considering either a Thnder Tiger Mini Titan E325 or T-REX 450. What are the differences between these two helis? Pros and cons for each of them?

I am not one who goes for getting something because everyone else has one. How do they fly? How does each one hold up compared to the other?

Thanks
Jim

I can't comment on the Mini-Titan as I don't own one. BUT, if you read the many posts about them, they are considered excellent heli's and some like them better than the trex 450.

I have the trex 450 SE v2. I absolutely LOVE it, it is a VERY stable, smooth flying heli. My LHS has parts support for it (minimal) but has zero parts for the mini-titan. So that is something to consider. Also will you be flying at a club or with friends? It's always nice to fly what they do as well so you can receive help if needed.

Good luck!

I have the MT, seems more stable than the TRex but perhaps not as agile.

My advice would be to get neither, get a T-Rex 500 instead.

I have a Titan with the AXI 2217 motor, and two Trex (one is XL, one is Rotorworks G3, neither with AXI motor).

The Titan is a wonderful kit. Probably the best quality heli I've built (I've built, maybe, 18). It is heavier than the Trex. It flys a little more stable and "groovy" than the Trex, but at the cost of flight time. I get around 5.5 minutes of aerobatic flight.

The Trex, being lighter, is less stable, but more nimble. I've not had any serious wrecks with either, but the Trex being lighter, I think would survive a crash better. I get 8-10 minutes with the Trex.

I tend to grab the Trex first, due to the flight time, but as the wind gets stronger, I start leaning toward the Titan because it handles better (but like Dr Lodge says, if it gets windy, I go for the 500).

The mini titan is an excellent for learning and is perfectly capable of doing what a trex can. I had a mini titan and it was super stable,

The theory about being lighter = less damage in a crash is false. You'll tear up the heli iether way in a crash, its the parts cost that counts..
I'd say the cost of parts for the mini titan and the trex is almost the same.

Now I have a beam,

I fly both both of these birds and love them.

The MT flies a little lighter because the rotor disc is justa tad larger but they both fly great and are 3D cap if you are.

AS for crash damage, dont do that.

I have a MT, I swear by it, it's so stable & you can alter the response by moving the links on the head, great for learning & when you get confident or fancy 3D, adjust the ball links & fly it like you stole it.

Seems to me that ALL heli's beat the air into submission
